Walking at 5 am has its Advantages

Needless to say, on the mornings I wake up at 5 am to walk, I don't eat breakfast first (although I always eat it afterwards once the kids are dressed, fed and ready for school).

I guess that's a good thing, because working out first, then eating burns more fat. You can read about it here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100603/ap_on_he_me/eu_med_exercise_while_hungry

  1. I didn't eat before running/walking this morning at 6 AM, but I wasn't sure that was a good idea as I headed out the door. It is so confusing because They used to tell us not to eat, then They told us all that eating before working out was important, and now "new" findings.

  2. I never know what to do either. If I don't eat I feel sluggish at times OR if I do eat I worry about my stomach and how it can act up. :(

  3. I just know what is right for ME...and I cannot eat before. It just makes me feel gross and it affects my workout. Water? Coffee? That's all fine. But FOOD? Nope. Not me! (lol)

  4. I've also read that it doesn't make a difference at all. Just do what works for you. I never eat before I walk. But then, I rarely eat breakfast! It's always made me feel bad and seems to increase my hunger the rest of the day. If I want to guarantee a day of bad eating, all I have to do is eat a substantial breakfast!
