I think one of the buzz phrases for 2010 is going to be "nutrient density." The trick will be to get the experts to agree on what is or isn't nutrient dense. I'm aware of some who would think that any kind of fats, but especially saturated fats, meat and dairy are most definitely NOT nutrient dense foods. I'm also aware of people who are afraid of any foods that contain saturated fats.
To me, the amazing thing about that belief is that healthy people throughout time have consumed these foods without the health problems we associate with them. I think the only reason to limit fat (of any kind) in the diet is because it's more calorie dense than carbs or protein.
Interesting. Now I don't feel so bad about my stilton cheese on crackers! I'm actively avoiding dry skin and wrinkles!
